英文的運用有時是約定俗成難以解釋，例如巴士站的英文是bus stop，但的士站卻是taxi stand。另外，巴士總站是bus terminus；而火車站，地鐵站等則多以station表示。很多學生學英文時都是從中文直接翻譯，容易犯錯。
